The goal of this backyard was to create a “wild” meadow with pathways connecting cozy sitting areas and outdoor “rooms”. The garden evokes the feel of a European villa through the use of colorful blooms and textured grasses.
The focal point of the front yard is a stacked stone wall looking as old as the sheep farm walls inspired by the owner’s trip to the New Zealand countryside. Lichen and moss covered stones and uneven undulations provide instant “aging” to the wall. This project was featured in Oct '06 issue of Sunset Magazine.
